Healthy Snacks That Don't Spoil

While snacking on a bowl of plain greek yogurt and berries is great, it's not always practical. If you're out all day without access to a fridge, you need simple, nutritious snacks that don't spoil. Let's look at some inspiration to fit any calorie budget!

Snacks under 100 calories…
  • 1 small banana

  • ½ cup of baby carrots with 2 tbsps. hummus

  • 2 small kiwis

  • 1 oz. pretzels (watch out for sodium!)

  • 1 single serving roasted seaweed snack

  • ½ cup sugar snap peas with 2 tbsps. salsa

  • 1 medium apple

Snacks under 200 calories…
  • 1 small can of tuna with 10 whole grain crackers

  • 3 cups air popped popcorn -- add a savory pinch of sea salt or a sprinkle of cinnamon for sweetness

  • 1 cup whole grain cereal like all bran or multigrain cheerios (watch out for sugar!)

  • 10 whole grain crackers with 2 tbsps. guacamole

  • ½ cup edamame (soybeans)

  • 2 oz. turkey jerky (watch out for sodium!)

  • 1 small homemade oatmeal bar

  • 1 hardboiled egg with ½ small avocado

  • ¼ cup of almonds, cashews, walnuts, or sunflower seeds

  • 1 small can of salmon with 10 whole grain crackers

  • ½ cup roasted chickpeas -- flavor them with paprika, cayenne, or turmeric for a kick

  • 1 medium orange with 3 squares dark chocolate
